The 2024 competition will happen during three in-person rounds on three weekends in April. We are also introducing a new competition alternative called the Artist Evaluation Tier.  Both tiers will have an enrollment cap so that we can ensure a quality experience for all.

This year’s competition will again consist of Three Divisions. Participants in each Division will perform LIVE at M. Steinert and Sons Newton Location in April 2024. All participants must compete in the division corresponding to their age as of April 1, 2024.

To allow broader participation, we are initially asking each teacher to limit their enrollment to two students per division and two for the evaluation tier.

NEW: Artist Evaluation Tier (alternative to competition)

For those not looking for the full competition experience this year, we are offering an exciting alternative – a NEW performance evaluation opportunity. The Artist Evaluation Tier is a wonderful opportunity for pianists looking for positive feedback and advice regarding their playing, and it will occur from January 15th to February 28th, 2024.

This experience will involve making a recording on a Steinway & Sons Spirio piano for a subsequent evaluation by acclaimed artist and pedagogue Professor Max Levinson.

The registration fee for the Artist Evaluation Tier tier is $75 per person.
